12-hydroxyjasmonoyl-L-amino acid 12-hydroxylas EC#: 1.14.14.49; ChemWhat Code: 1375557

Product Name 12-hydroxyjasmonoyl-L-amino acid 12-hydroxylas
Example Structure Example Structure of 12-hydroxyjasmonoyl-L-amino acid 12-hydroxylas EC#: 1.14.14.49
Synonyms CYP94C1, CYP94C3, jasmonoyl-L-isoleucine-12-hydroxylase
EC Number 1.14.14.49
CAS Registry Number
Comments A cytochrome P450 (heme thiolate) enzyme found in plants. The enzyme acts on jasmonoyl-L-amino conjugates that have been hydroxylated at the C-12 position of the jasmonic acid chain by EC 1.14.14.48, jasmonoyl-L-amino acid 12-hydroxylase, further oxidizing that position to a carboxylate via an aldehyde intermediate. While the best studied substrate is (+)-7-iso-jasmonoyl-L-isoleucine, the enzyme was shown to be active with jasmonoyl-L-phenylalanine, and is likely to be active with other jasmonoyl-amino acid conjugates.
Cofactor heme-thiolate
History
Reactions A 12-hydroxyjasmonoyl-L-amino acid + 2 [reduced NADPH–hemoprotein reductase] + 2 O(2) = a 12-hydroxy-12-oxojasmonoyl-L-amino acid + 2 [oxidized NADPH–hemoprotein reductase] + 3 H(2)O.
