4-hydroxyphenylacetaldehyde oxime monooxygenase EC#: 1.14.14.37; ChemWhat Code: 1375545

Product Name 4-hydroxyphenylacetaldehyde oxime monooxygenase
Example Structure Example Structure of 4-hydroxyphenylacetaldehyde oxime monooxygenase EC#: 1.14.14.37
Synonyms 4-hydroxybenzeneacetaldehyde oxime monooxygenase, 4-hydroxyphenylacetaldehyde oxime monooxygenase, CYP71E, CYP71E1, cytochrome P450II-dependent monooxygenase, NADPH-cytochrome P450 reductase
EC Number 1.14.14.37
CAS Registry Number
Comments This cytochrome P-450 (heme thiolate) enzyme is involved in the biosynthesis of the cyanogenic glucoside dhurrin in sorghum. It catalyses three different activities – isomerization of the (E) isomer to the (Z) isomer, dehydration, and C-hydroxylation. This enzyme is involved in the biosynthesis of the cyanogenic glucoside dhurrin in sorghum, along with EC 1.14.13.41, tyrosine N-monooxygenase and EC 2.4.1.85, cyanohydrin ¦Â-glucosyltransferase.
Cofactor heme-thiolate
History
Reactions (E)-4-hydroxyphenylacetaldehyde oxime + [reduced NADPH–hemoprotein reductase] + O(2) = (S)-4-hydroxymandelonitrile + [oxidized NADPH- -hemoprotein reductase] + 2 H(2)O.
