Isolated from Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The enzyme adds approximately twenty-eight galactofuranosyl residues with alternating 1¡ú5 and 1¡ú6 links forming a galactan domain with approximately thirty galactofuranosyl residues. Involved in the formation of the cell wall in mycobacteria.
