Product Name oligo-alginate lyase
Example Structure Example Structure of oligo-alginate lyase EC#: 4.2.2.26
Synonyms 2,6-beta-D-fructan D-fructosyl-D-fructosyltransferase (forming di-beta-D-fructofuranose 2,6′:2′,6-dianhydride), Alg17C, levan fructotransferase (DFA-IV-forming), levan fructotransferase; 2,6-beta-D-fructan lyase (di-beta-D-fructofuranose-2,6′:2′,6-dianhydride-forming), Oal, OalC17, OalC6, oalS17, oligoalginate lyase, Smlt2602
EC Number 4.2.2.26
CAS Registry Number
Comments The enzyme degrades unsaturated oligosaccharides produced by the action of alginate lyases (EC?4.2.2.3?and EC?4.2.2.11) on alginate, by repeatedly removing the unsaturated residue from the non-reducing end until only unsaturated monosaccharides are left. The enzyme catalyses a ¦Â-elimination reaction, generating a new unsaturated non-reducing end after removal of the pre-existing one.
Cofactor
History
Reactions Cleavage of 4-deoxy-alpha-L-erythro-hex-4-enopyranuronoside oligosaccharides into 4-deoxy-alpha-L-erythro-hex-4-enopyranuronate monosaccharides.
