sucrose-phosphate phosphatase EC#: 3.1.3.24; ChemWhat Code: 1379423
Product Name | sucrose-phosphate phosphatase |
Example Structure | |
Synonyms | CcSP1, phosphatase, sucrose, SPP, SPP1, SPP2, Spp3b, SPS/SPP, Suc-phosphate phosphatase, sucrose 6-phosphate hydrolase, sucrose 6-phosphate phosphohydrolase, sucrose phosphatase, sucrose phosphatase 1, sucrose phosphate phosphatase, sucrose-6-phosphatase, sucrose-phosphate hydrolase, sucrose-phosphate phosphatase, sucrose-phosphate phosphohydrolase |
EC Number | 3.1.3.24 |
CAS Registry Number | 9059-33-0 |
Comments | Requires Mg2+?for maximal activity [2]. This is the final step in the sucrose-biosynthesis pathway. The enzyme is highly specific for sucrose 6-phosphate, with fructose 6-phosphate unable to act as a substrate [2]. Belongs in the haloacid dehydrogenase (HAD) superfamily. The F in sucrose 6F-phosphate is used to indicate that the fructose residue of sucrose carries the substituent. |
Cofactor | Mg2+ |
History | |
Reactions | Sucrose 6(F)-phosphate + H(2)O = sucrose + phosphate. |
