tRNAMet cytidine acetyltransferase EC#: 2.3.1.193; ChemWhat Code: 1377003

Product Name tRNAMet cytidine acetyltransferase
Example Structure Example Structure of tRNAMet cytidine acetyltransferase EC#: 2.3.1.193
Synonyms tmcA, ypfI
EC Number 2.3.1.193
CAS Registry Number
Comments The enzyme acetylates the wobble base C34 of the CAU anticodon of elongation-specific tRNAMet. Escherichia coli TmcA strictly discriminates elongator tRNAMet from tRNAIle, which is structurally similar and has the same anticodon loop, mainly by recognizing the C27-G43 pair in the anticodon stem. The enzyme can use GTP in place of ATP for formation of N4-acetylcytidine [1].
Cofactor
History
Reactions (Elongator tRNA(Met))-cytidine(34) + Atp + acetyl-CoA + H(2)O = (elongator tRNA(Met))-N(4)-acetylcytidine(34) + Adp + phosphate + CoA.
