tRNAMet cytidine acetyltransferase EC#: 2.3.1.193; ChemWhat Code: 1377003
Product Name | tRNAMet cytidine acetyltransferase |
Example Structure | |
Synonyms | tmcA, ypfI |
EC Number | 2.3.1.193 |
CAS Registry Number | |
Comments | The enzyme acetylates the wobble base C34 of the CAU anticodon of elongation-specific tRNAMet. Escherichia coli TmcA strictly discriminates elongator tRNAMet from tRNAIle, which is structurally similar and has the same anticodon loop, mainly by recognizing the C27-G43 pair in the anticodon stem. The enzyme can use GTP in place of ATP for formation of N4-acetylcytidine [1]. |
Cofactor | |
History | |
Reactions | (Elongator tRNA(Met))-cytidine(34) + Atp + acetyl-CoA + H(2)O = (elongator tRNA(Met))-N(4)-acetylcytidine(34) + Adp + phosphate + CoA. |
